How are cable joints connected?

Cable joint connections are divided into general wires and power cables. General wires may be manually twisted; power cables need crimping and sealing with professional fittings. Cut power and verify cable type prior to work.

🔌 General wires Cross solid copper wire ends in X-form, twist 2-3 turns, wrap each end 5-6 times and trim surplus. For stranded wires, tighten strands near insulation, interlock spread conductors and wind securely. Apply ≥2 insulation layers with heat-shrink tube or tape; use waterproof glue in damp conditions.

Power cables Strip outer sheath and armour. Crimp conductors with connector sleeves and polish burrs. Mount stress and insulation tubes, shrink from centre outwards. Wrap semi-conductive tape for continuous inner shielding. Reinstate outer sheath and perform air-tightness test.

⚠️ Notes Use special intermediate boxes for high-voltage cables. Avoid tension on joints. Apply multi-layer sealing against moisture. Leave access space for maintenance. Fit bimetallic transition sleeves for copper-aluminium connections to prevent galvanic corrosion.
