Flexible cables are high-performance cables designed for frequent movement, bending and twisting. Featuring outstanding flexibility and fatigue resistance, they maintain stable electrical performance under dynamic conditions. They can sustain tens of thousands to millions of bending cycles, with a minimum bending radius down to 5-6 times the outer diameter or less. The sheath is commonly made of PUR, TPE or other low-adhesion flexible wear-resistant materials with oil-resistant, cold-resistant, flame-retardant and UV-resistant properties. Premium models can achieve a service life of more than four years under continuous motion.
Conductors are finely stranded copper complying with IEC 60228 Class 5/6, more flexible and fracture-proof than solid conductors. Insulation prevents electric leakage; the outer sheath protects cores against abrasion and chemical corrosion, while fillers improve cable roundness and tensile strength.
Typical applications include robotic arms, CNC machine tools, automated production lines and drag-chain systems (also known as drag-chain cables or moving cables). Special-purpose types cover flexible mineral-insulated cables for building fire-protection power supply and FFC for internal data transmission of electronic devices.
