Both are type 5 multi-strand soft copper conductors, PVC insulated without sheath, protected for fixed installation. They have the same rated voltage. The main difference lies in the heat resistance grade and allowable operating temperature of the PVC insulation material, which directly affects the current carrying capacity and the applicable environment.

Applicable environmental temperature

Normal range: -5℃ to +70℃

-40℃ to +90℃, with stronger adaptability to both high and low temperatures

System of laying

Protect the internal fixation installation (such as conduits, troughs, and inside cabinets), and it is not suitable for frequent moving or dragging.

Protect the internal fixed wiring (such as conduit, control cabinet, and internal fixed wiring of the machine), and it should be fixed only, not using cable conveyor.

✅ Comparison of Applicable Conditions

  • H07V-K (Regular 70℃ PVC Soft Cable)

Applicable scenarios

  1. Fixed wiring in a dry environment with moderate ambient temperature: Wiring in distribution cabinets and control cabinets, wiring in conduits, fixed wiring in ordinary lighting circuits.
  2. Stable ambient temperature, no continuous high-temperature heat sources, no large amounts of oil contamination. Limiting conditions.
  3. The long-term temperature of conductors shall not exceed 70℃; when the ambient temperature is high, the current capacity should be reduced.
  4. Low temperatures are not suitable; below -5℃, PVC insulation is prone to cracking.
  5. Not suitable for positions close to motors, heating elements, etc., where there are continuous high-temperature sources.
  6. Only fixed laying, cannot be repeatedly bent, dragged or moved.

  • H07V2-K (90℃ heat-resistant PVC flexible wire)

Applicable scenarios

1. Fixed wiring inside control cabinets and mechanical equipment near heat-generating components; industrial indoor environments with high ambient temperatures.

2. Large fluctuations in ambient temperature, low-temperature environment (as low as -40°C).

3. Larger download flow at the same cross-sectional area, smaller capacity reduction in high-temperature environments, meeting the temperature rise requirements of EN61439 distribution cabinets.

4. Also suitable for ships (some ship certification versions), high-temperature lighting circuits; limitations.

5. Still fixed cable laying, not suitable for continuous reciprocating motion, chain drive usage (frequent movement requires H07V2-K and cannot replace chain drive cables).

6. Even better heat resistance, still PVC, not resistant to strong solvents and long-term immersion in thick oil.

7. Cost is higher than H07V-K.

📌Summary of selection:

- For ordinary indoor control cabinets and normal temperature environments → H07V-K, with high cost-effectiveness.

- For environments with high temperatures, close to heat-generating devices, low temperatures, strict requirements for temperature rise of distribution cabinets, and need for larger current capacity → H07V2-K
